Frequently asked questions

  • Do you accept medical insurance for payment?

Currently, we do not accept health insurance for our services. You may use your health insurance to fill your prescriptions.

  • How do I pay?

Payment may be made with a debit or credit card. To assure you receive quick services, we require card-based payment over the phone. If you do not have one, you can purchase a rechargeable “credit card” with cash at most major retailers.

  • What happens if I cannot pay?

We will be happy to provide you with free online recovery-related resources, but we cannot continue medical care or prescriptions. We will refer you to an addiction treatment clinic of your choosing.

  • What is Buprenorphine and Suboxone?

Buprenorphine is an FDA-approved medication used to treat opiate use disorder. It is a “partial opiate agonist”, meaning it partially activates and blocks the areas of your brain that opiates activate. This way, you will not experience withdrawals from opiates and will be blocked from experiencing the typical “high” from other opiates. Suboxone is a brand name for a combination of Buprenorphine and Naloxone. Naloxone is an opiate blocker which further works to prevent opiate abuse while on the medication. Please ask your doctor or Bupe Online medical provider for more details.

  • Is Buprenorphine safe?

Yes! With our medical providers’ supervision, your individual case will be thoroughly reviewed to ensure that the medication is safe for you. Feel free to ask our medical providers during your online encounter any questions regarding Buprenorphine, and they will be happy to help.

  • How long does treatment last?

This depends entirely on the you. Our medical providers only begin to lower medication doses when you are ready for it, and you will never be forced to lower your medication dose against your will. Follow our instructions to remain safe for prescription and take it at your own pace! We have seen successful treatment courses last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

  • How much medication will I get at a single time?

Most of our Buprenorphine prescriptions last one week when you first start. However, depending on your individual situation and your history with Bupe Online, each prescription will cover a maximum of 1 month.

  • What if I’m currently prescribed an opiate or benzodiazepine medication?

Due to potential overdose and life-threatening side effects of mixing Buprenorphine with other opiates (hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc) or benzodiazepines (xanax, klonopin, etc), it is not safe to be prescribed these medications at the same time. However, if you are willing to stop taking those medications (after consulting with your doctor), we will be glad to help you.

  • What happens if I fail a drug test?

If you fail a drug test, the results will be carefully reviewed by our medical team alongside your individual case details. You may or may not receive a Suboxone prescription after failing a drug test. Be honest with us and discuss your hardships during your weekly support group, and we will work with you to get back on track. No judgment!

  • What if I don’t live in North Carolina?

Sadly, we cannot offer treatment for you at this time. However, we are planning on expanding to other states as quickly as possible! If you live in another state, please send us an email to let us know where you are so that we can prioritize adding your state to our services.

  • I have more questions!

No problem! Please call us at (877)7-GOBUPE or email us at bupeonline@gmail.com with any questions you have, and we will get back to you right away.
